Well, I really didn’t think I would do this as I am not really a sports fan, but here goes – how amazing is the Olympics?! We have been lucky enough to get tickets to two separate games. First up was women’s basketball. We saw The Peoples Republic of Chinaaaaaaaaaa (as the compare kept saying) against Czech Republic. Pretty good match – the Chinese were quite terrifying, and the Czechs were very determined. followed by Russia v. New Zealand – very slick match.
And then on Friday we saw mens Hockey – don’t really know too much about it, but they certainly seemed a lot better than when I played at school, and even with ball boys to roll on new balls instead of everyone waiting whilst the nearest chump wanders off across the pitch to find fetch the lost ball. We saw Australia v. Argentina and Nederlands v. …..um….. (slightly embarrassed here) was it New Zealand?? Anyway, all jolly good!
The olympic park was ay-may-zing! Lots of space, fantastic natural planting scheme, marching bands, genuinely friendly and helpful staff ALL over the place, clean toilets (very important when potty training chimp number two, great timing son!) and no ques anywhere!
Now, you may be wondering why I am writing about the Olympics – well, it is because it has consumed a lot of paper cutting time and so I have no new work to show you – sorry folks .
But…. I have started work today on an exciting commission – a wedding present – so hush, hush, just incase they are reading (probably not, I think they are abroad somewhere, although I guess t’internet travels overseas!!). And also some apple themed lampshades. Hopefully I can bring you more news on these next week.
Oh, and watch out for my next Thursday post – it’s gonna be a good ‘un!
